Gir
Overview
Gir cattle are one of the most famous indigenous dairy breeds of India. They originated in the Gir forest region of Gujarat and are known for their high milk yield, disease resistance, and adaptability to hot climates.

Native Region
Gir cattle are mainly found in Gujarat, especially in Junagadh, Amreli, and Bhavnagar districts. They are also widely reared in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and parts of South India.
